Hello,

I suspect I have lyme disease. I also diagnozed as a mercury poisoning. I did a saliva test for adrenal and hormonal function and my adrenal is weak and the hormones are not balance. My doctor wants to give me hydrocortizone and pregnenolone. I'm afraid that for the long run it can depress my immune system so the lyme can spread but I guess that if my body is not balanced it can have ather consequences. I also debate if to take hormones/adrenal support in cream or in the regular way and if it has the same effect.

Does anyone have experience with that or information about it?

Good question. Steroids that are immune suppressive is one of the worse things for lyme.

For some reason, Androgel (Testosterone) is okay. But testosterone is a steroid hormone. I have to look into this one. My guess is since it is a hormone that is being added directly because my levels are low, it does not suppress the immune system.

Adrenal support would be good. You would be safe doing this.

I would work with a lyme literate doctor about getting your hormone levels balanced. Steroids are a very scary thing for lyme. It has been advised that steroids should only be used in a life or death situation for lyme patients.

Take care,
Rich (skiweasel7)

Hi,

"I would work with a lyme literate doctor about getting your hormone levels balanced"- Is there other way to balance the hormones?

I tried adrenal drops and felt was more concentrated but it's also has negative effect (nausea..),it's adrenal support on the basis of alcohol and vettable glycerine. maybe I will try it in the cream alternative.Any suggestions for other adrenal support?

Can you reccomend me on lyme doctor? I preffered in Europe but I don't know where can I find a list or something for lyme doctors in Europe or in the state. I guess and hope they also believe
in the mercury issue.

thanks for the information!!

Rachel

Chronic Lyme Neuroborreliosis were treated for years. The symptoms were: pain in the limbs, numbness, nasal discharge, lameness, depression, headaches, sweating, trouble sleeping. There are many treatments tried for many years. This brought some improvement, but not definitive.

The next course of antibiotics cured it permanently:
Doxycycline 400 mg/day (2x200) for 30 days
after
Minocycline 400 mg/day (2x200) for 30 days
During the course beginning every two weeks for four consecutive days:
Metrondiazole 1000 mg/day (2x500) for 60 days

Sorry for poor English.

Hi Rachel,

I have to look in my medical supply at home (I'm at work right now). Right now I take "Iodox", which is in pill form. Mainly it is different types of iodine in one pill. I just finished a bottle labeled "Cortex" (I bought it from my ND). I'm now taking something labeled "Adernal Support". I'm sure this does you no good without knowing who makes it. Hopefully I'll remember and post back with more detailed information. It may take me a few days to remember to look it up and then post again.

With supplements that come in drops and contain alcohol, I usually let it sit in water for a few minutes before drinking. This allows the some of the alcohol to evaporate. I question how much evaporates, but Dr. Lee Cowden did direct his patients to do this with his NutraMedix tinctures.

I don't know of any doctors in Europe. I've heard of Dr. Andrew Wright in the UK as a good one. But you may not have to go that far. Just make sure the doctor you see believes in chronic lyme, does not pronounces "lyme" as "lymes" (that's a give-away), and you feel that he takes the fact that you have lyme seriously. Mainly you should be looking for a doctor that will not prescribe steroids that will make your lyme worse.

You can try this link, but I think they only list US doctors:
http://www.lymediseaseassociation.org/referral/LogIn.php?setcookie=yes

I would log on and give you the information, but I think they only give you a few LLMDs in your area. This is to protect the doctors (long story).

Good luck,
Rich (skiweasel7)

Stay away from Steroids! It will cause more problems..like letting the lyme bacteria run rampard on your body. Do some research on your computer, everything medical on lymes and Chronic Lyme. It will help you make decisions...with or without your doctor. Sometimes doctor's just don't understand..very few are really familiar with lymes. All the blood work, some of which can show a false/positive.

Hello, thanks for your help!! I don't think I have a doctor in my area who knows how to treat lyme. Actually, the hormones that the doctor suggest me are biological identify but I don't think it's relevant for the lyme issue. I tried small amount of the preg' just for two days and the headeche that I have for a long time with other pain muscles are just gone after I took it.
Of course it return after it but I know that I have an hormonal problem. The adrenal drops helps, i think it's "adrenal tonic", ashwaganda formula. I wonder if iodine/tyrosine or thyroid supplement can help me, especially for the muscle weakness.
I also understood that it's logical to start with ciletion or other detox way if somebody suspect he has mercury/lyme problem. any objections? ( :

Good luck to everyone, rachel
