Dear All,
My name is Anders. Here is my story/questions:
I have just been in South Africa from December 8-26 2009. I was bit by a tick around December 19th. I left and arrived home the 27th of December and developed a heavy headache.
December 27 - January 1st: Heavy headache with soar throat. I felt 'beat down' maybe cause of the week long headache?
January 2nd - I took Excedrin Migraine and my headache went away and I felt like a million bucks.
January 3rd (3:30am): I woke up with a dizzy feeling. I started to tingle all over. I got a cold sweat and felt as if I was about to pass out. My heart felt week and my breath went a little short. I took my temperature and it was 96.4. I rushed to the ER thinking about this tick bite I got. The whole time I was being driven to the ER (50min) The above sensations persisted. I got to the ER and they said take some Sudafed and go home.
January 3rd same day (8:50pm): I felt the same fainting, week heart beat, shortness of breath feeling coming again. I again rushed back to the hospital and again got told "its nothing really"
January 4th: Today I am tired, 'spacy', and feel a little weak. Still a small headache hanging in there.
I am conserned am wondering if this is the beginning of Lyme. Please what are your thoughts here? I have had my blood taken for tests at the ER but they did not mention it was to be tested for Lyme, will it be noticed anyways?
Please what do you think of my symptoms?
(take not I have had not fever or rash or 'bulls eye' in the bite area)
Take you all.
