Hi everyone,
Wonder if anyone can interpret these results for me. Had a lyme test done a while ago and it came back IgG positive and IgM equivocal so I was told by my doctor that I had lyme at one stage but not anymore. Still suffering with numerous symptoms so I decided to have a western blot test done the results are:
IgG 39kDa IND and 41kDa +++ IgM 34kDa IND and 41kDa IND 83-93kDa IND
can anyone shed any light on this as i haven't got a clue and worse than that neither has my doctor.
Cheers.

There are nine known Borrelia burgdorferi genus specie specific KDA Western Blot antibodies (bands): 18 23 30 31 34 37 39 83 and 93.
41 is not lyme specific, but very common. These results do not show proof that you have lyme. 34 and 83-93 are not positive or negative, but there is something there...
To get better results, you can go on high dose antibiotics for 3-4 weeks and re-test. This may give your body the chance to fight the infection and produce more antibodies you need for a positive test. This may turn the 34,83-93 to positive. And maybe you have more bands too.
Take care, Rich (skiweasel7)
