What's the deal with low body temp? Is it because we have low body temp that allows lyme to thrive or does lyme cause low body temp? More importantly, how can you raise your temp? ~lymiemom

Low body temp is caused from your Thyroid not working properly, which alot of Lyme patients experience. Saunas , Spas/Hot Tubs are great for raising body temp as well as helping your body detoxify through sweating, if you dont have access to any of those, try taking hot baths. But eventually you'll need your Thyroid to start working properly again so I would suggest vitamin A, C, B complex, B12, and E for this condition. Coenzyme Q10 taken in a dosage of 100-250 mg per day is also beneficial. Be sure to take adequate amounts of the minerals magnesium, manganese, zinc and selenium.Selenium should be taken in the mount of 200-600 mcg daily. Selenium assists in the removal of toxins from the body, and deficiency in this mineral is toxic to the thyroid.
Hope that helps, -CLD
