This video describes some benefits of alpha-lipoic acid and Vitamin D, the former with regards to Lyme disease and the latter in more general terms. If you believe heavy metals are a problem for you, I would not recommend doses of above 2-300 mg of alpha-lipoic acid, as it is a very powerful heavy metal chelator. (In the video I mention 600 mg as the max dose, but I have since rescinded my position on this. To be on the safe side, I would stay at a lower dose, unless you are also taking a strong heavy metal binder such as DMSA, and especially if metals are a significant problem for you.
