My dog was enjoying a good scratch and massage from me when I noticed a small protrusion on his neck. A tick was imbedded there and I immediately pulled it off.
With Maine's winters starting later and ending earlier, our tick season is extending to 12 months and New Englanders should be checking daily for ticks on themselves and their pets. Pets should be treated year-round for prevention of tick borne disease.
