Brief intro (for now):

My 5 year old boy, my 30 year old wife, and I (36 year old) have been tested (Igenix) positive and diagnosed (by a LLMD) with Lyme. We live in Ventura County (CA). We just had a daughter on March 30th. Cord segment was negative for lyme. My wife was on antibiotics the whole pregnancy.

My symptoms (much less physical than my wife) started in the 90s: Back pain, eye infections, prostate infections, skin cysts. Later developed memory loss, speech difficulty, dizziness, vertigo, and spelling issues (I use a spell check in Word before pasting in a reply). I was mainly thinking it was just part of getting old. The memory thing was what scared me the most.

My wife was diagnosed two years ago after Bell Palsy, carpal tunnel, and horrible IC issues (IC was ongoing for many years). My son and I were tested soon after. I was very positive (more than my wife). My son was equivocal- but had classic signs for Lyme (low weight, reflux, speech delay, constantly sick, dark circles under eyes, had ear tubes for multiple ear infections). My son got retested after 3 weeks of antibiotics. He was positive that time.

Mainly doing the antibiotics and herbal (Samento, Cumanda, Quina, Banderol) thing with a healthy diet, mainly avoiding sugar, and taking vitamins and natural supplements. I also attend a local Lyme Support group (once every two months). They mainly have speakers share. I wish to share what I have learned as well as learn what works and has not worked for others on this message board. I hope everyone keeps in touch though this long and relatively unknown journey.

P.S. I'm still not sure how to post a picture...

I guess it did work. That's not the best picture of me, but it works. Even though it looks like I was at a bar and probably drunk, I was not. I think I was at Chilies waiting to be seated. I have no idea why my wife took this picture...

It did work! Nice to put a face to the name! (we all think we look silly in our own pictures)

So, Rich,
What are you doing in a bar?
Don't you know alcohol is to be avoided like sugar? :-P

I've enjoyed your posts, and learning much.

I'm doing all the supplements and detoxing too.

So sorry to hear about your son.
Kids shouldn't have to go through this.

Hang in there guy,

Jeani

Hi Jeani,

Lol. That's what I'm doing wrong. I need to cut out the alcohol. It's just heroin and coke from here on out then! That should be okay as long as I don’t smoke, right? :-)

I probably should figure out a way to replace that photo. It was just something I found on one of my wife’s web sites for my son. There was only one photo of just me to choose from.

Anyhow, my son is doing great. Thanks for being concerned. Children recover better than adults. I think they don’t have all the co-infections and other stuff that we pick up along the way. The down side is that their brains and bodies are developing, so any illness can lead to serious long term damage (as seen in lyme induced autism kids). Luckily, we caught it early enough for my son (who was showing autism like signs before treatment).

Take care,
Rich (skiweasel7)

Hi Rich, I am a 14 year lyme disease and co infection sufferer, I also like your wife have had severe IC problms, after numorouse appointments with urologists infectious disease and many other types of doctors I have found a cure for this horrible problem. go to your local health food store and pick up 2 items! L-Argenine and pycnogeno, she must take these 2 vitamins 3 times a day DUTIFULLY, in about 2 weeks she sould notice a huge improvement, the doseage that she must take can be found on the ic website! I dont remember the doseage because my ic it all better! The doseage is easily found online! I promise this will work
