Over the years, having been bitten and diagnosed a minimum of 6 times, I feel the antibiotics have brought me back to human shape. I am excited to know that now when I am bitten and know it, I can take a single 200mg dose of doxy and forego the month long treatment. I am just beginning to have good days again after this last infection.

Buhner's protocol is in his book, which you should buy and read. It has an excellent overview of the research on Lyme and to do the protocols you should read thoroughly about the side effects and contraindications of each herb.

Healing Lyme: Natural Healing and Prevention of Lyme Borreliosis and Its Coinfections. ISBN 0-9708696-3-0 Stephen Harrod Buhner

Just for everyone's information, because I believe the Buhner protocol is so important, I created a new, separate forum for it:

My LLMD put me on Zithromax. Never told me about supplementing with probiotics. After 30 days ended up in the Hospital with sever diarrhea/dehydration. I did not make any improvement until I had seen a Doctor that looked at all my symptoms and blood work. Then made a treatment plan based on that information. Have not went back to Abx and don't plan to.

I've been on abx for a year now, and only one symptom has disappeared. I'm starting to have my doubts about abx treatment in general.

I experienced fourteen years of intermittent antibiotic protocols. Some made no difference and some worked well usually up to six months. Most recently I received eight weeks of IV vancomycin and rocephin, followed by a few weeks of flagyll. This has been the biggest improvement I have yet to feel. Continued use of butyrate acid and phosphogluteratecholine *not sure if that is the right name* contribute to my sense of well being. They prevent liver and gall bladder toxic buildup.
